CORPS-LEVEL ORGANIZATION

Star Wars milsim & roleplay ยท Now on VRChat
A Star Wars milsim and roleplay community built on brotherhood, structure, creativity, and genuine care for its people. Sixteen years on, we are still a community first.
Forming upAll accounted for
Entire operations have been canceled without hesitation because someone was struggling, hurting, or in crisis. Dozens of members came together, quietly, simply to be present. It is just a game. The people come first. That is the standard we hold ourselves to.
01 / Who we are
A place you can call home.
The 228th Black Skulls Corps is a long-standing Star Warsโthemed milsim and roleplay community. What began as a simple concept has grown into a Corps-level organization with deep lore, multiple divisions, and a community-first culture that has lasted across platforms and generations.
Lore has always been a cornerstone of the 228th. We take pride in the stories we write and the universe we build together. But lore has never mattered more than the people behind it. At the end of the day it is just a game or an RP, and that will always come second to the well-being of our members.
The 228th is only what it is today because of the dedication, loyalty, and support of countless members, leaders, allies, and friends. Above all, we recognize that the Lord has truly blessed this unit and its people.
02 / Our history
The 228th began not as a large unit but as a concept: a vision built around armor design, identity, and lore. In its earliest form it lived in experimental ideas, written lore, and early modding in places like Garry's Mod. From the very beginning it was never tied to a single platform. It was a community first, branching out wherever creativity and people came together.
Where it started: one squad, a concept built on armor design, identity, and lore.
Written lore and storytelling, plus early modding experiments in Garry's Mod.
Structured operations and unit milsim. The 228th Arma 3 mod is in development.
Our primary home today, where we continue to grow, operate, and build connections. We stay open to new platforms and new allies.

04 / High Command
Leadership ranks grew the same way the unit did: Specialist, then Captain, then Senior Commander, and finally Marshal Commander. Every step was earned through time, effort, and commitment.
Think of it as a pyramid that branches outward, from the top of the Corps down to each division.
Oversees the 228th as a whole: lore development, armor regulations, infrastructure, creative direction and the merch store. At this level sits the entire Corps: every platform, every game, every division and every trooper operating under the banner.
Handle the operational oversight that keeps the unit running smoothly, aligned with its vision, and steady when things get busy. They carry real authority and do an immense amount of work behind the scenes. High Command isn't tied to a single game or platform: its responsibility is the unit in its entirety, its vision, standards, long-term direction and stability.
Divisions are the games and communities that make up the 228th, such as VRChat, Rec Room and any future platform. Each is led by a Division Lead who runs day-to-day operations: events, staffing, activity and community management. Division Leads coordinate with one another and report to High Command, keeping every division under one identity.
Each division has its own Battalion Command. Working directly under the Division Lead, they help run the platform day to day: events, staffing, training and keeping troopers on track. Think of it as a division's own High Command. What High Command is to the Marshal Commander across the whole Corps, Battalion Command is to the Division Lead within a single platform.
Every rank in the Corps, highest first.
05 / Programs
Every trooper holds an MOS: the job they do in the field. Each MOS is backed by its own training program, which teaches troopers the skills and standards of the role.

Fleet Admiral Lynx is one of the most storied members in the 228th's history. She came to the Corps from the 91st Recon Corps, another clone unit from the text RP days. In 2017 the 228th and the 91st were close allies, and when the 91st was invaded during an op (told in the lore below), she and Flanker spent a good while working side by side and grew very close. The 91st and Lynx ended up on rocky terms. It took some convincing, but Flanker was the push she needed: she accepted a promotion, swapped units, and came over to the 228th to take active command as its Fleet Admiral. Don't let the officer's uniform fool you. Lynx was an outstanding hand-to-hand combat specialist and could do real damage with a blaster. Flynx The two kept growing closer and decided their characters would get married. They didn't make a big deal of it; it was a small, local thing within the 228th. They spent a lot of time together hanging out, running missions and coordinating with one another, and they made a genuinely coherent command team. Of course, the rest of the 228th took every chance to playfully poke fun at their commanding officers. They shipped the relationship and called it "Flynx." Years later, Flanker and the members who read about it or hear the old stories, from long before the unit set foot in Arma and well after the text RP days, still get a smile, a laugh and a bit of nostalgia out of it. In the lore Lynx arrived on Moraband fresh from training, top of her command simulations, with unmatched fleet tactics and better field instincts than most veterans. Flanker gave her his quarters and walked the base halls all night, and the two talked until dawn about the war, about Kamino, and about the things they missed. He asked her to take a few days' leave with him on Naboo. They had their first date by the waterfall overlooking the plains. When the 91st's capital ship was boarded by CIS forces and Marshal Commander Neyo called for help, Flanker took a small team in under cloak while Lynx held overwatch from the Moccus. The 91st was saved, and she was waiting for him at the ramp when he got back. She accepted Flanker for who he was, even after Moraband cursed him. He later took her back to that same Naboo waterfall and proposed at sunset. She said yes, and that night under the stars she told him her birth name, Sataris Starroy; Lynx was her military callsign. Beneath a canopy of willow trees, with no witnesses but the stars, they were married. No ceremony, no rank, just names. From the bridge of the Moccus she ran the 228th's fleet, relaying scans, calling strikes and keeping the troopers on the ground alive. Her final chapter When Order 66 came, Lynx refused it. Flanker found her afterward, overjoyed she was alive, and she knocked some sense into him. Because of her, he ordered the 228th to desert the Empire, and the Corps fled alongside her as fugitives. She was eventually murdered while Flanker was away, and her loss is one of the deepest wounds in the 228th's story. Passing the torch Around early 2020, Lynx's real-life player retired the character from events, both text RP and the Arma division. She and Flanker stayed in touch and kept talking about where her story would go, and much of her lore was written in those years. As life moved on with school, college, graduations and everything else, constantly writing lore stopped being the top priority, and she stepped back from the role. A few years later, Flanker got married in real life. He reached out to Lynx's original player and asked whether his new wife could take over the character, since Flanker and Lynx are married in the lore. She agreed and graciously passed the torch to Flanker's wife, and she will always have a say in the character's development. It is a touching legacy, rich in history and lore, and one of the best stories the 228th has to tell.

CC-7592 "Hog" is one of the longest-standing members of the 228th. He joined back in the text RP days in 2016, quickly rose through the ranks of that division, and became one of Flanker's closest friends. In 2018, Flanker and Hog decided to start an Arma 3 division, the 228th's first step into Arma. Hog was part of that division's leadership for a long time and was considered High Command before High Command was officially founded, back before the structure was really there. After three to four years building that division, he decided it was finally time to retire. His final stand In the lore, Hog fell during The Purge, when CIS forces ambushed the 228th's forward jungle outpost. He rallied his fireteam on the southern ridge and held the line through wave after wave until the evac. Wounded, he refused the stretcher and walked down the gunship ramp on his own. His last words to Flanker: "Let them remember the armor. Not the man. The armor's what matters." He left behind a holotape warning that the op had been a setup, with final orders to keep the unit together and finish the hunt. The 228th named its new ship the Moccus, after the boar-hunter god, in his honor.
